A set of articles by Lem on society, its future and past, etc. Most of them balance between philosophy and futurism, so even though connected to his novels, the form is very different. I find pretty incredible how Lem was able to process and analise such huge amount of information. Reading a score of scientific journals, books, papers. Also analysing their accuracy or value. A brilliant and humble observer of the world looking for patterns and directions where certain technological and social trends may go. And what's even more, in great majority of the cases he was right or very close to what happened and can observe today. But damn, we are talking about the guy, who envisioned e-book readers in early '60s! It's a great read, disclosing a bit of Lem's thinking process and how one can recognise historiographical patterns .
