Omar is about a kindergarten student that has autism. He talks about what he does at school, what he enjoys eating, and other stuff. His ultimate goal is to show other students that he's much like them in many ways. Even though he doesn't know how to speak well, thinks differently, and takes longer to learn, he's still brilliant. There's no need to be afraid of him because he's autistic.

I did enjoy this book. The illustrations were done really well and they captured each section of the book. One thing I would change is to show how Omar interacts with the teachers and students more. Have more show than tell about the things Omar does. A little more description of the scenery would be great. Overall, I do like how this book brings awareness about children with autism and it can be a good learning tool.
