Written by the saint commonly regarded as the last of the Fathers, On the Orthodox Faith summarizes the patristic theological consensus of the first eight centuries of the Church. This is rather a careful compendium of orthodox theology, and a demonstration of John's faithfulness to the received tradition. Norman Russell's eagerly-awaited translation is the first in English to employ Dom Bonifaz Kotter's 1973 critical edition of the Greek texts.
