I was instantly reminded of Real Housewives. All the DRAMA.
Short chapter is the only way to write thriller and nobody can convince me otherwise.

alright here we go my(with all your suggestions) fool proof method to avoid a reading slump! a quick, easy to follow, mystery/thriller. I saw fellow Australian Paige read this and gave it 4 stars so I have high hopes for this one
i read this slow because i was somewhat busy and i just didnt want it to end. i absolutely love the storyline and the multiple pov's. I found it SO SO entertaining and the end was just phenomenal. I think this honestly goes down as an all time favorite I KNOW i say that a lot but this book blew my expectations out of the water. Every character was different and none the same. Its rich people drama to the max and the salon setting was just perfect. 5/5 stars highly recommend.
This was such a fun and juicy read. It felt like a combination of reality TV shows like Selling Sunset and mystery books like Big Little Lies.
The story is centered around Jenny, a successful salon owner, and 4 of her very rich clients. I liked that all of the characters brought something a little different to the table. Ruthless Olivia, lost Shannon, naïve Crystal, pragmatic Kate and peacekeeper Jenny. Not to say they're one dimensional characters. In fact, throughout the book we see different sides of each of them.
The main focus of the story is the relationship between these characters rather than the mystery. And the relationships, with years of secrets and resentments, is filled with cattiness, snark, and figurative backstabbing. A lot of times it really reminded me of watching reality TV.
For most of the book the only thing we know is that one of them is dead, but all the way to the reveal, the book had me guessing on who was gonna be murdered and by whom.
If you enjoy flawed characters, this books has plenty. I liked they all got their own POV, so we could see what their motivations were from their own perspective. Since not all of them are likeable, (there was one I especially loved to hate) seeing their side of things helped.
This book does a great job of keeping the drama intriguing and engaging. I honestly don't know if it was the drama or the mystery that kept me turning the pages more but I was HOOKED.
I loved the ending!
If you enjoy gossipy guilty pleasures, this one's for you. If you love Desperate Housewives, ditto. Qnd even if you don't, like me, but are due for some mindless entertainment but can't stand reality TV, you're welcome!
as a “housewives of beverly hills” enjoyer, this was a great read. fun and entertaining, predictible by the end but i didnt mind
I honestly wasn't sure what to expect with this one (I've been saying this a lot lately
“One of Us is Dead” is a super fun read. It's fast-paced, with loads of twists that keep you guessing. The storytelling feels fresh and modern, with interesting characters that pull you right in. It's like a rollercoaster—once you start, you don't want to get off. Perfect for anyone who loves a good, unpredictable thriller.
