The first book did so well and changed the YA game so we all expected a sequel that wouldn't be nearly as good as the first but .. well.. yeah this was bad.
Not as good as the first book but I liked this one as well! The series were so much better than I thought and I wish I read them sooner. Will definitely check her other books out after this! I really liked the characters and I'm glad we could follow up on the characters from the previous book. I really liked the writing but I wish the chapters were a bit shorter but that's just what I prefer.
This was sooo hard for me to get into, i connected less with the characters and overall found it a little boring until about halfway through. The storyline picks up from there and oh my god the ending???? This one has left me wanting the next book!!
It was good, but not as good as the fist one. Or at leat I wasn't so emotionally attached to this one.
i loved the first book so much, so i already had high hopes for this novel, and it did not dissapoint! i'd give it 4.5 stars if i could! i liked One Of Us Is Lying more, but only by a little bit. the new characters were great and it was so fun getting to know the side characters from the first book more. the romance was ADORABLE!! and the ending ... i hope we get a third!
The story is pretty scattered and I wasn't sure what and who to pay attention to.
The tension/mystery aspect felt super inconsistent. There was a “countdown” dowards someone dying and then we find out it was the asshole who made like a single appearance being abusive. Not really a shocker and not a pity. Phoebe as a POV character was absolutely forgettable to me. But. I love Knox. I love Maeve and I cared about their storylines a lot. I liked the cameos by the heroes from the first book. And it all came together in the end. And somehow it still managed to keep me glued to the pages and elicit feels in me. So 4*
I did not like the first story in this series; however, I gave this one a shot because it made the YALSA Teen Top Ten list.
The mystery in this sequel was much better done. It sticks true to a game and provides legitimate reasons for the drama. The relationships were sometimes superficial, but that is “high school” novels, and the characters did have their shining moments.
I also appreciated that the characters did not get out completely unscathed; it felt less like a happily ever after than some books in the same genre. I don't think you need to have read the first book to understand the plot in this one (I recommend skipping it), and this one is much more enjoyable and easy to read.
I don't think I've read a worst sequel to a book ever. The plot was dull, the plot twists duller. Literally nothing was happening throughout the whole book except maybe at the last quarter. The writing was cringier than in the first book. Safe to say I hated it.
Probably not QUITE as good as book one, but still a really great read.

WHAT THE FUCK. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ENDING???$¡#¿#¿ NO LO PUEDO CREER DIOS QUEEEE QUE QUE
This was a nice sequel. If you are wondering whether to continue with the series... Please do.
Man, this high school sounds like a nightmare. More drama, more secrets, and wow am I glad I had a brick of a phone when I was in high school because text-messaging was barely a thing then, and you had to pay 25 cents for each one and F if I was going to pay for that with my $5.45-an-hour job sacking groceries.
Anyway. Fun escapism since this isn't my life, though the ending (and I mean literally like the last five minutes of the audio) skipped a little into SUPER unbelievable territory.
I'd give it closer to 2.5 but definitely not deserving of a 3. I missed the inability to put the first one down that this one just didn't possess. I think the biggest miss for me was how many secrets the Bayview Four we're keeping vs our three main characters in this one not really keeping anything from the reader at all. Sweet sequel, nice to see how the four and Maeve shaped out, and really enjoyed Phoebe and Knox, but just not nearly as compelling as the first.
