I found Paul Auster's writing interesting, and maybe if I took the time to analyze this book for themes it would mean more to me. But much like the stories that the main character writes throughout the book, Oracle Night felt incomplete to me. I was also frustrated by the stereotypical portrayal of a mystical Chinese man. The major plot points of the book were sad and disturbing. Overall, not a win for me.
