Orange: The Complete Collection, Vol. 1

Talk about a completely clueless MC, one of my least favorite tropes. She's soooo naive and afraid of everything which irritates me to no end. The side characters are the most interesting, and overall I like the friendship group.

I'm not sure I agree with the people who say this is about putting the responsibility of someone's life on other people. I think it speaks more to survivor's guilt: reliving every moment when you think you could have said or done something differently and wishing you could go back.

All the feelings! I'd heard good things about this one, but was hesitant to get into it because everyone said it was so heart wrenching - and it is - but in the best possible ways. The characters wormed their way into my heart almost right off the bat and and continued to be a great throughout, add to that the mystery/sci fi elements, a bit of romance and light humour and I was hooked. The underlying themes are great food for thought, helping to make the story more than just a fluffy teenage drama and certainly elevating the entire story to whole new level. I loved it all and can't wait to see where it all goes in the final volume.
