1948-1952 time period - Cold War. Am.cit. USE employee, Digby, who is giving secrets to KGB marries Iris. Marriage tears Iris and sister Ruth apart. Estranged until Ruth gets letter from Iris saying to please come to Russia, where she and husband sought asylum after he was caught. Intriguing Cold War story more about interrelationships rather than Cold War itself. Good character development and surprising twist at end. Another great novel by a favorite author.
