This is a fantastic little adventure story. It starts in Switzerland, where the author sees a mysterious woman who remains veiled and tries to avoid him. Months later he is able to learn the backstory, which involves devious criminals, a miraculous escape from a cruel death, a duel and unrequited love. Maybe I've said too much already!
