A Wonderful Blast (Off) From the Past!
Pete the Cat is such a charming, little guy who seems to come straight from the past in the most delightful and fun way! The narrative style and simplistic art evoke a sense of nostalgia for the books I grew up with: hand-me-downs originally published in the 1960s and 1970s. Rock on, Pete. Rock on!
This story is quick and fun, following Pete and his other feline pals as they train for, go on, and return from a space mission. There are moments of conflict, such as needing to get back to a rocket in time to go home, but they are over quickly enough to be appropriate for young kids. Turn the page, find out Pete is safe.
This book was fun and I recomend it for any youngster interested in cats, space, or both!
