In May 2011 I was introduced to the Princess Parables in their original picture books and now I am very excited to discover they are coming back in an I Can Read! Level 1 format. Perfect encouragement to learn to read for a little princess that already enjoys the main stories of the Princess Parables in these abridged story versions with simple sentences for eager new readers. The text is very different however the story is essentially the same. The images which I love are edited a bit with size, cropped and directionality somewhat but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a reader especially if you enjoyed the picture book, but even if you have not read the picture book these early readers are great.
What a delightful series for my daughters to grow up with reading again and again while learning about various gospel lessons. The artistry is absolutely adorable and whimsical. I would be excited for my girls to want to emulate these princesses over your generic fairy tale princesses any day. “Prince Joy's Birthday Blessing” teaches a great lesson about what real gifts in life are about.
