I'm reading this series backwards...don't judge me. I loved Bastiano Romano so freaking much, but, you know, it's one of those things where you don't know if it's a fluke. If you just gelled with the writing and the story. We'll, after finishing Ranieri Andretti I think it's safe to say that it wasn't a fluke. I loved it. Parker S. Huntington has such a beautiful way of creating these characters and circumstances where you know you should probably dislike the hero and his actions but deep down, you just can't help being in love with him. And the heroine? Sheesh. She writes the BEST heroines. I love them almost as much as I love the heroes. They are strong and feisty. Just how I like them. I've always been a sucker for second chance romances and this book is no different. It's a novella, but don't let that detracted from the story. It's not lacking at all. The characters are well rounded and I never felt like I was missing something. I think Parker did a fabulous job of giving the reader enough information without repeating things from other books. That takes skill. Ranie and Carina have such a long history and their love started so innocently and it was beautiful and perfect...until it wasn't. I liked how that played out and although I was holding myself back from kicking him in the nads a few times, I knew something must have happened, once we finally get that missing piece it all made sense. I loved how as adults he persued Carina and because of the things they'd been through she fought it. The build up and the coming together was fantastic. A definite must read. There is something in this story that I adored, I don't want to ruin anything, so I'll just say this, letters! Swoon. I loved it.
