This is a world divided by blood - red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power. Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance - Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart.bl

I thought this book would be more interesting than it was. The concept was good. I thought I would find the war between the Red's and the Silver's to be fascinating. Mare, the protagonist, was a little annoying and made too many dumb decisions. Overall, the book was okay. I have a feeling I will be too annoyed to read the rest of the series, so I think I will skip it.
This is not for me I'm telling ya...but I will read the 2nd book to it so I can see what happened. The plot twist was trash. Already knew what was gonna happened. Y'all hyped the plot twist up so much and I found out it was horrible... I didn't even make a face...my face was straight... I had a mean mug aka like a mugshot I will take if I ever go to prison. Somebody said the ending was mind blowing.... where...where was it mind blowing at...tell me bc I might of missed it...oh wait I didn't bc it was trashed like u can predict it and u will Be right
Plus it was boring... I didn't want to dnf bc I wanted to know what happened
Very enjoyable. Not really mind-blowing but i liked it a lot and that's what matters.
However, I didn't click with the heroine or most of the characters (Maven was a cool character though). But i really liked the political intriguing plot.
