For a short book it realy dealt with a lot.

Thane is hanging out at a club when he sees Maddon. The two hit it off and are leaveing together when shots ring out.

Thane is an ex marine turned firefighter.He lives to saving people. Maddon is a tattoo artist. Who was one of the oh so many homeless LBGTQ youth. He has baggage.

What this book does so well is show a supportive relationship. Not a dependent one.
