Ring-rise, ring-set

With another Ice Age imminent, fifteen-year-old Liza, bored with the restrictions of life in the protected City, stows away on a scientific expedition and finds herself inadvertently abandoned on the snow fields whose only inhabitants are the mysterious Ekoes.
