Rough Edge

This was a long one. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it because the beginning was filled with much fretting and anxiety and not many Romantic Interests (read: tall, dark, and handsome men with big swords). And I'm coming from the Kate Daniels world so I'm used to the MC being all take-charge, all-knowing, and badass. Rose is not Kate. But she's great; I love her, I love her family, and I love her story here. Would highly recommend.

This was awesome!!! I would love to know HOW they write these insane complicated worlds. and the romances. Yes, it was only a few weeks in the book, but it felt slow burning. It was GLORIOUS. I cannot wait for the next book. I do not thing IL can write something that I will not love. I am turning into a fangirl. Am I? Maybe.... All I know, I love them. I love their writing style, I need more. Now.

did I need to re-read this a year after first reading it? No.

But, I bought the third book in the series, the one I hadn't gotten to read yet, and decided a re-read was in order so I could appreciate the books.

I feel like I enjoyed it more than the first time I read it, but this is not my favorite Ilona Andrews series. I did thoroughly enjoy it though and I'm glad I did read it once again. This is a wonderful world.
