the poetry in this book reminded me of the emo tumblr posts i used to write after my break up in 10th grade that were so embarrassing that i deleted my blog so the world would never see it LMAO.
i wasn't expecting a ton from this collection but i ended up really enjoying it. lang leav just has a way with words that's so beautiful and lyrical. her poetry feels classic and modern at the same time and it's so wonderful. many of these poems will stick with me for a long time. the only issues i had with it was i felt a lack of continuity with each poem as well as, as she states in one of the poems, there's often a struggle between poetry and prose and some poems just feel like paragraphs. overall though, a beautiful collection.
