I got about 100 pages into this book which is my cut-off point. If I dread my evening reading, the book goes into the recycling pile. I think I misread the description of the book because I was surprised to discover that it took place in Victorian England. I wasn't particularly in the mood for a period piece so that probably didn't help to warm me to the story. The bottomline, I wasn't interested. I can't really say if it was a poorly written or uninteresting book, just that it was uninteresting to me.
