Shadowdale

This trilogy tells the tale of one of most momentous events ever to occur in the Forgotten Realms - The Time of Troubles. The first book introduces us to main plot line as well as the main characters. I feel that there's been wasted potential in this book. The characters are somewhat typical and not very interestingly fleshed out. Also, the plot feels a bit hurried. It felt like the author was at a pace where he had to get to a particular scene quickly, leaving little room for reflection or more delving into a character's thoughts and motive.
