This felt like Act I of a novel, rather than a novel in itself. All the good characters are rewarded and all the bad punished–which, I do admit that I respond well to, though I prefer fewer deus ex machina plot twists to tidly wrap things up. Pleasant, easy to digest, forgettable. I'd read the sequels if they were free...
