Shōgun, Volume 1

I loved learning about the language and culture. If it's not accurate it still made for great reading.

On the other side, I was a bit confounded that the author had the sailor leave his crew to wallow in the jail as I didn't get the impression the sailor was the sort of person to leave colleagues/friends behind when he had the leverage to change things.

DNF'd at 65%

A group of us decided to pick this up after some of the members of the group watched the Hulu show and loved it. I might still watch the Hulu version. This book is definitely problematic on quite a few levels.
