I had a difficult time getting into this book at first, but I think that's because I've had a difficult time focusing recently due to stress. Once I did get into it, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I especially liked the setting, and the budding friendship between Dash and Kira, as well as the shift in Dash's point of view/attitude about living on the moon base as the book and his detecting went on.
The only thing I didn't particularly like was the bit about cochlear implants “fixing” deafness. It's a complicated and pretty major point of disagreement in the Deaf community, and the way it was addressed here, even so briefly, didn't sit quite right with me.
