One of the best memoirs to come out of WW1. I am sure that Jünger's vivid descriptions of the horrors of trench warfare will stick with me forever. He was a true Prussian warrior. Given the way he approached combat, it is a miracle that he somehow made it through the death sieve of that war.
This book was first published over 100 years ago; so, there are plenty of reviews to consider. Laura's is one of the best. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/42113115
Wow. This took me several months to read. Either I'm a slow reader or this was super monotonous. Whatever I'm going to bed
