Taking Chances in Cedarwood is a straight-up romance. Cain, who is over 30-years-old, runs away from home and straight to Cedarwood. He meets Andrew quickly and latches onto him. He says he wants friendship all the while wiping drool from his chin. (Laugh)
Andrew and Cain dance around each other due to miscommunication, misconceptions, and Andrew's job as a farmer. Once Cain gets a free pass to visit the ranch, cit is game over for these two lovestruck men.
Then the drama starts with Cain's overbearing family, agent, and Cain's “in the closet” status. Cain is not losing Andrew! He then proceeds to shed his baggage and image.
I really like this story. It is funny, cute, and earnest. I think I have to pick Andrew as my favorite character due to the patience he exudes.
Taking Chances is a quick read for a coming-out-later in life romance. Megan Slayer makes me want to go to Cedarwood so I can take my chances and get lucky.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
