The 39 Steps

Breathless spy novel with good suspense, but it's over a hundred years old and feels it. Well-written and brief enough not to wear out its welcome, but you have to put yourself into a mindset of a very long time ago.

One of the first thrillers in history ... Enetrtaining almost 100 years later – can't wait to see the movie, too!

This was a very fun early spy novel. The beginning and ending are great but there is a long lull in the middle.

It just read dull. I mean what can make this book counted as a great book — nostalgia?
