Why?
I wanted to read a story, not a summary of one character's life. The book starts in the middle of the character realizing he's been shot (and, honestly, with his personality, I'd shoot him too) and then quickly moves back in time to when he was about eight. By the time I stopped reading, we'd only caught up to him being sixteen. Plus, I really don't like the style of writing - it's too similar to the urban fantasy style for me to like it.
