The hit series returns to charm and inspire another generation of baby-sitters! The first three classic BSC books are back, along with a brand-new prequel, The Summer Before. Being a good baby-sitter isn't always easy, and the vice-president of the Baby-Sitters Club, Claudia Kishi, is learning that the hard way. She and the other club members have started getting strange calls on the job. Is it the Phantom Caller, a jewel thief who's been breaking into houses in the area? One thing is certain -- the Club has to take action to protect their kids!

So, I started listening to a podcast called The Babysitters Club Club, and it convinced me I should go back and visit this series from my childhood. I only read the first book, and maybe one or two others when I was a kid, I favored Historical Fiction so I didn't really get into these.
Now, I feel the need to read the book corresponding with the next episode of BSCC, so I gave this one a read this morning. Wow, do they take me back to my junior high years! The drama of girl friendships. The obsessing over cute boys, daydreaming, but being too afraid to tell them you like them! The babysitting. The complaining about parents. Good times. ;)
I think I would have enjoyed these more in 7th grade, but I tried them in 5th or 6th (maybe even younger than that!) so they didn't appeal to me.
I'm going to really enjoy going through these books along with the podcast! Such bookworm fun!
