This book was a torture to finish, I swear. The main characters just did not invoke any emotions to me, I could not relate to them. I think the female main is selfish and spoilt and so blah. The male main is so... flat. The entire story just fell flat, it's like drinking a lukewarm, fizzless soda.
And just what is it with Sparks and tragic ending? It is so expected, you know. You pick up a Sparks' novel and you just know that the ending will be tragic. Someone will die at the end. So predictable. So boring. So meh. He should definitely shake things up a bit, maybe let the ending be a happy one for once. Or don't kill off anyone, maybe?
Blergh. Next!
I would probably give this book three and a half stars. It was good, but just okay good.
I guess what I didn't like was at the point of knowing Amanda's son would need a heart transplant, I knew the way the rest of the story would go. Nicholas Sparks did his best in the way he wrote it to try to keep the reader in suspense, but it just didn't work. Saying that though, I don't know how it could have been written where the reader would have been kept in the dark.
I enjoy Nicholas Sparks' books and I did enjoy reading this one.
i haven't finished reading it yet, only halfway through and I'm LOVING it!! i highly recommend it!
