This is a fairly satisfactory sequel to ([b:The Children of Possibility 13549313 The Children of Possibility Thomas T. Thomas https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1331928645l/13549313.SX50.jpg 19115307]), with similar good and bad points. However, the title points to a significant feature of the story, the admission of a divina into the Troupe of Jongleurs, which I feel is implausible, because most of the Jongleurs are against it, and none of them has a good reason to favour it. Yes, training the divina serves as an excuse for various trips through time; but Merola and Coel could surely have found some better excuse for the trips they wanted to make. For example, they could have found a human candidate to train. The presence of the divina is useful for the author, and perhaps for the divina, but not really for any of the human characters.
