When you are going to write a series I believe its the second book that makes or breaks the franchise. The first book is the one that draws people in and to continue to meet expectations is quite challenging. Jonathan manages that with flair. The plot's continue to be gripping and the action pretty gritty. While we have the main protagonist, the story is really well integrated through multiple POV's including some minor roles. Thus this is less commando and more Op Center. But the thing that the writer manages to retain the best is the pacing. The Dragon Factory is fast and Jonathan provides a countdown as you race towards the ending!
