The more I sit on the aftermath of reading this book the more I find fault with it.
**I recommend physically reading the book and not going the audiobook route. Coming off the high of One Hot Italian Summer, I dove into this one because older woman/younger man (yes) and Fútbol (yes yes)! I felt as if the One Hot Italian Summer was a promise of another great read. No. I did not get a great read. If you analyze all the pieces that make up the story, it all should have worked. It was the piecing it together that didn't work. 40 year old athletic physical therapist
Newly divorced She worked with her ex husband (coach)
He cheated and is officially with the mistressShe leaves UK for Spain
23-24 year old soccer player Let the fun begin
I didn't necessarily think the story was boring. It's slow but I was willing to ride it out because right off, this was a complicated hot mess to begin with. Thing is there's NO chemistry between these two. You were told over and over again how hot each of the mains were and how there was something there after one night of running into each other. However, there really weren't that many interactions. Everything was weird. It wasn't until like way after the half way point where I felt some kind of connection but it was so luke warm.
I don't know... It was just meh...
