The Girl of Ink and Stars

This book is written so beautifully and mystical that I know my ‘middle grade' self would not have been able to appreciate so I am so glad I read it now. I thought everything about this was beautiful from the characters to the plot. It is only a short book so I do not expect a lot of world building or character development for characters that aren't essential and therefore I was able to just sit down and read this and take in all the small pleasures it gave me. I think that different style of books need different criteria and so therefore this book gets 5 stars as it hits all the things needed for a middle grade and a short story.
