Another great Stephen King story. I really felt his portrayal of Trisha was spot on. It felt real and you really understand her feelings, actions and emotional state throughout her ordeal. Highlight recommended.
the ending just felt a little anticlimactic but otherwise, i was hooked!
i was hoping to cry but it didn't hit me that hard.
Well Trisha is a boss that's for sure!
Another great King read and a really enjoyable quick story line, you'd think a 200+ page book with only one character lost in the woods (she's 9 years old) would be boring but as always King builds complex interesting characters.
Providing yet again King can write any genre he puts his mind to The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is a SOLID ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I've been tearing through as much King as I possibly can this year. I was impressed by this one's focus and visceral power.
A quick, fun romp in the forest. King throws the supernatural out the door in favor of real life terror: being 9 years old and lost in the woods all alone. This one isn't nearly as terrifying as King's other work, but a decent read nonetheless. I wouldn't put it among his best nor worst, but I would recommend it to anyone just looking for a mindless weekend read.
I was looking for a ‘Stephen King Lite' book as my daughter showed an interest in reading one of his and I obviously didn't want to traumatise her ;) Unfortunately, this isn't just light on adult themes but also light on the other things King is known for, like suspense and intrigue.
Although the ending picked up a bit I think I'll suggest she waits a few years and reads ‘full fat King' when she's ready.
How many of us have been lost in the woods before, or have dreamed they were? This is an excellent story of what one might be faced with. The MC is a young girl who has to learn how to tap into her inner strength, fight through hunger, sickness, loneliness, and despair while at the same time fight for the chance to go home. This is a bit different from King's other type of books but it is a very enjoyable read.
