The Grim Reaper's Lawyer

2.5 stars. The book is fine. It reads a little like fan fiction with the excessive outfit descriptions and banter. It's a fine mystery although I did predict who the real culprit was quickly. It's written by a lawyer but if you're a lawyer trying to read this then I think you would get infuriated at the courtroom scenes. They are very inaccurate to how an actual courtroom would function.

I really enjoyed this. The humour, action, and spice were top-notch. For anyone who hates slushy romance, you'll be pleased that there is none in this book to make you vom.
Joyce is hilarious and stubborn, and the dynamic between her and dirty, dirty Aiden works so well. I can't wait for the second book in this series. I will be ordering it as soon as it's released.

The Grim Reaper's Lawyer by Mea Monique  follows FMC Joyce Parker who is murdered by her client in court!

She is then presented with an ultimatum by a (very fine) Grim Reaper, Aiden. She can A, become his Lawyer and defend him reaper court or B, go to hell. Joyce does whatever sensible gal would do... she choose hell. As this choice would prove to be unfavorable to Joyce she agrees to represent him in the first ever case in Reaper Court. 

Bias aside... I really enjoyed GRL :) I've never read a book with this kind of premise and set up. The world building was chefs kiss and everything ran like a smooth movie in my head... even the spicy scenes 🤣. Can't wait for book two!
