The Haunted Dolls' House and Other Stories

Not sure why the publisher felt the need to produce this Penguin P60 with three stories by two authors - it would have made more sense to have three authors or just stick in a third by M R James and be done.

I suppose however, they are of a similar genre, and don't clash in terms of style.

The Haunted Dolls' House - M R James
Hard to consider this horror, more slightly disconcerting ghost story about - as you may have guessed a haunted dolls' house. No subterfuge in the title here. 2.5 stars

The Body Snatcher - R. L. Stevenson
A plot with more twists and turns, perhaps as I might have expected from Stevenson, who is rather a master of these tales. Liked this one. 4 stars

The Rose Garden: - M R James
For me this one was too padded at the front and jumped too quick at the end. Issues with pace distracted from the story. 2 stars
