I was offered a copy of this for an honest review, so honest I shall be.
This is a short story collection that is interwoven to tell a somewhat singular tale. The gloomy village is filled with people, all carrying their own secrets. The author weaves them so that we get the bigger picture through the eyes of each strange character. Some know each other, while others are strangers, but they all have a part in this tale.
To label a genre, I'd have to pick a couple honestly. There's horror, dark fantasy, mystery. The author definitely hits the nail on the head for the theme of moral decay. Decay in general actually...if you know what I'm saying.
The only thing that didn't really mesh for me was when the perspective switch would tell the same piece from a different perspective. It should have been cool, so I think it's on me, but I did not catch on quickly enough.
Enjoyable, dark, and quick. Personally a 4/5* for me. Check this out!!
This was such a fun read with some surprisingly brute imagery that really left an impact on the reader. Absolutely loved how everything tied together and came full circle.
