This is such a great book, especially for today's time. There is so much economical stress going on and kids might not really understand. One things I've always loved is that you can point them back to things like the stories of Kit's life (an American Girl story + doll). But we need more than that. This picture book story is current (not 1900s depression era) and really explains without explaining what is going on and how things are hard but okay. Things will be okay. Things might change, you might move, but life can continue anywhere and it is what you make it.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
Thanks to Peachtree Press for loaning me an electronic copy through NetGalley.
