Jennifer had met thg famous author Gregor MacGregor just once, when she was a small child, a foundling from an orphanage, and he had been kind and understanding to her on this one magical occasion. Directly and indirectly the meeeting had changed her whole life — for as a result she had been adopted by the McGrouthers and given at last the happy home and family she needed — and she had never stopped dreaming about Gregor.
