This wasn't a bad story, but it took 95% of the book for me to like the narrator. She was unnecessarily awful to her sort of boyfriend and undeservedly slavish to her BFF Lou - the the point of complete blindness. There were no decent people here. And maybe that's the point. It is a story about peeling back the layers to show the rot & decay beneath.
