The Lightkeeper's Ball

I liked this better than the second book of the series, and the last third was really excellent and difficult to put down. I felt like it bogged down a trifle around a quarter of the way in, but I kept going.
One thing that REALLY threw me for a loop was high-society Mr. Bennett telling his son that “we do not hang out with [their sort].” “Hanging out” is a very modern term, and even if it had been common in the day, it would be very out of character for a man of his sort to stoop to slang. To stay true to character, he should have simply said, “do not associate.”
I did love how the killer is so well hidden until the very end. Usually I'm very good at guessing such things.
