This one's like a diamond in the rough, with just a bit too much rough around the edges. If this book were half the size (with all the fluff left out) it would have hit a solid 5 stars.
The good news? It starts with a bang, reeling you in like a fish on a hook by Chapter 2. But then, be prepared for a leisurely stroll through the middle. Three chapters from the finish line, it's a bit like watching paint dry...
But, and this is a big BUT, it's worth the ride till the very end! Just when you're about to give up, BAM! A plot twist hits you like a freight train, leaving you with your mouth wide freaking open.
So, here's the deal: “The List” may have its slow stretches, but don't throw in the towel. Push through because the finale is a mind-bender, and it redeems the whole shebang. If you're into suspense and unexpected plot twists, this one's a contender.
