I'm so in love with Knox

I loved Knox and Emory as a couple but their story arc was awful. The time jumps did not work for me and it all wrapped up too easily at the end (more than expected in a romance book).

my brain was begging for mercy the entire time i read this. needless to say, i wasn't merciful and now lack a significant amount of brain cells because of that.

just read the dugout if you're actually a baseball fan. no baseball, gross male protag, and uncomfortable/cringe-worthy dialogue.

This is the first book in the Brentwood Boys series by Meghan Quinn and it has been on my TBR for so long I decided to read it after so many of the cameos in her other books. Even though these can be read as standalones, I'm one of those readers who has to read about the characters from the get-go so I'm doing it. Note: you can get the boxset of the first 3 books on KU with the Audible membership price on the audiobooks with all of the first 3 books so it's like 3 for the price of 1. :)
I was really enjoying this book until the break up, but I also love it when books don't follow the same cookie cutter process, so there's that. I just lost interest at the break up because it was so abrupt and then the years go by with just a few paragraphs to recap that space of time and well I think I would have given this 4 stars if that time took a little longer and more preceded the break up and if they talked more about it. Maybe I have a little more personal experience in this type of situation that's foreshadowing my feelings, but when you're dating a college athlete who is as good as Knox Gentry was (and he was a Junior at that!) it doesn't come out of nowhere that there's going to be a draft decision so that was a bit odd that Emery was so shocked, but it was necessary to build tension for that break up, I guess. I'm on to the next book. I really do think I'm going to like this series because the banter between Meghan's characters is really fun. ***Knox and Emery have a “couple cameo” in So Not Meant To Be as guests on Kelsey's podcast. Really cute scene there! Great book!

This was a cute college baseball romance.

The bet they had was a little silly, and kind of prevented them from being as physical as they wanted to be. And for what? Like sure it was for bragging rights and a steak dinner or whatever but it was monthssssss. So silly.

The reunion had all of the emotions. Sadness. Anger. Happiness... glad things had a HEA that's for sure

Knox was a sweetie golden retriever. Emory doesn't deserve him
