Another library loan I finished just before it was due! My hold came in while I was still listening to Addie LaRue, so it sat in my loans for a week or so before I started it. Thank goodness for my road trip!
The story has dual timelines. It wasn't confusing and I liked how the characters went through the same time of situation near the end. I like how the present day character, Caroline, put things together and how she found her passion, after her life was upended.
I also liked Nella and Eliza's relationship. Nella has a side gig of dispensing poisons to women to give to the men that did them wrong. But she won't harm another woman. One of her customers requests something to give to the mistress, instead on the husband and Nella refuses.
This was a book that has been popular on Litsy and Booktok. I enjoyed it and would recommend, but I don't know that it deserves all the hype. It had some cliche lines like “found herself”. This was a half pick, half so-so.
