There was a big gap between when I actually started this book and finishing it. I kind of abandoned it over the holidays. By the time I had recovered from said holidays and realized I haven't finished this book I was pretty close to the end. The end definitely grabbed me though and things were clicking into place about the story even though it had been over a month since I had read most of it. If you liked the Percy Jackson series, this is worth reading.
I forgot how much I LOVE this series!!! Honestly, I think I like this series overall more than PJO...
i thought that i had blindly given this 5 stars out of nostalgia,,
rereading this i saw that this is just as good as i remembered,, rose colored glasses be damned
Short Review: Building on the Percy Jackson series, this first book of a new series brings in a new set of main characters. Just as good as Percy Jackson books, this series is more focused on the team and not just one main character.

No matter the target age, Riordan knows how to bring it. This was fun–great new twists and developments into the world that Percy and his pals introduced us to.
Great, great start to a new series–I highly anticipate the next installment.
The Lost Hero has a slightly different feel than the Percy Jackson books (it's written in a third person POV), but it's every bit as exciting and edge-of-your-seat adventure.
Back to the world of Greek mythology where demigods are fighting to save the world and be the champions their gods need them to be.
I LOVE that this one is mixing in Roman mythology and adding a twist that makes it so both Greek and Roman have to work together.
This new set of characters is great. I love Piper and feel she is a wonderful female lead. She is strong, intelligent, and beautiful while at the same time showing it's ok to be scared and question herself.
Jason is a great character as well, showing his vulnerabilities even while he is strong. Leo is my favorite as I'm such a sucker for the ones who are forgotten or overlooked. The way Leo learns to trust not only his friends but in himself is such a great message.
The ending of this has me on the edge of my seat and I'm excited to see where this mythological twist of cultures goes.
Kalau Percy Jackson & the Olympians teinspirasi mitos dewa2 Yunani maka seri Heroes of Olympus menambahkan mitos dewa2 Romawi. Alurnya spt biasa penuh petualangan hidup-mati. Sbnrnya berharap Mr Riordan di novel2 berikutnya memakai ide lain, selain memakai mitos dewa2 Yunani, Romawi, Mesir ataupun nordic.
Me gustó.
