In his 14th book, bestselling author Nicholas Sparks tells the unforgettable story of a man whose brushes with death lead him to the love of his life. Is there really such thing as a lucky charm? The hero of Nicholas Sparks's new novel believes he's found one in the form of a photograph of a smiling woman he's never met, but who he comes to believe holds the key to his destiny. The chain of events that leads to him possessing the photograph and finding the woman pictured in it is the stuff of love stories only a master such as Sparks can write.

I'm such a sucker for Nicholas Sparks. Finished this book in less than 24 hours because I couldn't put it down. Sparks most certainly knows how to tug on the heart strings, and the ending of this novel does just that, although not exactly as I predicted. The Lucky One is a beautiful, romantic story that does not quite reside on the most feasible end of possibility but proved to be a great read all the same. I enjoyed the continual exploration into who the characters are and why they are the way they are as well. Can't wait to see the movie!
This is a good beach read. I am surrounded by reading women in my family. And when we go to the beach, there are always lots of novels that are in the Nicholas Sparks and Nora Roberts genre. I usually read at least one of them while at the beach (after all I don't really feel comfortable reading my kindle while actually in the pool.)
I knock this one out yesterday. This is a recent Sparks book and deals with the male character's return from Iraq after serving 3 tours. It touches on post tramatic stress and other adjustments (although they aren't huge part of the book.
This is one of my less favorite Nicholas Sparks books. It's still good because he's just a great story teller, but it's too predictable and cheesy for me. There's also a slightly stalker-ish aspect to it. But it is a sweet story... especially if you're a military wife.
Warning: Don't read it while your husband is deployed.. unless of course you are looking for an excuse to cry.
