This is one of the best books on migraines I have ever read, probably because the doctor writing it has experienced migraine, I believe. She says something to the effect that the migraine brain is always on alert ready to react to anything it finds displeasing, which is an excellent way to describe a migraine that's always waiting to happen, at the most miniscule trigger. I have had crippling migraines most of my life. This book nails a lot of facts very accurately, starting with the confirmation that migraines are not mere headaches: they constitute a malfunction and disease of the brain.
