The Nanshe Chronicles Books 1-3

Having read the prequel (Artemis City Shuffle) first, I was intrigued by both Lasadi and Raj and their world, and Ghost Pirate Gambit, the first full novel in the series, got me hooked for good!

This series ticks so many of my favorite boxes:
* heists, cons, and treasure hunts (often going sideways),
* a misfit crew of intriguing characters
* fast-paced and wildly entertaining adventures in space (ghost pirates! fights! subterfuge! booby traps!)

Over the course of this series, I've really become attached to each and every one of these complex, flawed, and vulnerable characters - though I'll admit to having an extra soft spot for Alex. :)
Not only do I enjoy ALL the banter, it's also wonderful to see the crew grow closer together and how they learn to trust each other, even if everyone is bringing plenty of secrets and personal baggage to the table.
Add to that the sloooow-burn attraction between Lasadi and Raj, and it feels like this series was written especially for me.
