From the very first sentence, I was hooked. I did have my guard up from the jump but i trusted our main character and her unexpected ‘sidekick,' and was completely horrified by this small Kansas town.
The story is wonderfully twisty without feeling gimmicky and there's a definite edge through everything. And seriously, I didn't even know people sell dirt for other people to eat—I was disgusted and intrigued all at once!
I absolutely loved this and I'm so glad I read it! But, I'll admit, it wasn't very memorable. A couple of months later, I couldn't even remember what it was about and started re-reading it until it hit me. Overall, a good read, but not one that stuck with me. will read more from this author.
