Loving this series so far even though it's a bit of a slow starter. It kind of plays like a mixture of the Addams Family and Supernatural - but with a darker tone than either - and it's right up my alley as a horror fan. The artwork is amazing, too; it's delightfully macabre and really enhances the tone of the story. Can't wait to keep reading.

I am not a big graphic novel reader, so I don't have a strong basis for evaluation. I came to this by way of the Netflix's “October Faction,” which I am mostly enjoying. I was looking for some insights into the series, but honestly, it seems that the series is changing and introducing characters. For example, the father in this graphic novel seems to be the grandfather in the series and the Lucas character in the book is probably the monster mercenary in the series.
In any event, I did enjoy the book, albeit I thought the drawing was a bit dark and not entirely clear. I guess that's what we should expect from a “horror” graphic novel. Also, I didn't get much of the “mythos” out of this book I am not deterred from getting the next book to see what happens.
