i definietly enjoyed the mc and the twist and turns. this was a little slow for my liking but it still kept my attention
After “The Spires” (another Kindle first) was a miss for me I decided to give this one a shot. This is also a revenge thriller but we are in the opposite woman's POV. I think this trope is just not for me.
CW: SOME SPOILERS! I really really reallyyyyy am also over miscarriage/infertility/sexual assault being used in thrillers SOOOO much a “motive” for a woman to be bad. It's just exhausting and I'm over it in books. It seems this may mean i need to stay away from domestic thrillers.
Started out strong and was very readable. I liked the different perspectives but nothing really shocked me. I've seen this plot play out many times and this was not one of my favorites.
Ivy is the queen of obsessive intrusive thoughts! This is the kind of story where I found myself routing for the villain and you get a nice little twist toward the end.
I almost didn't finish! The only reason I finished this book was because I was listening on audio. The plot was convoluted and impossible!
top 5 books I have read this year holy shit this was one of the best books I have ever read EVERYTHING worked for me including that twisty ass ending. Best believe I am gonna be reading this author's backlist
⭐⭐⭐ – Started off so well
Right from the start, this was turning into a 5 star read for me. I loved the writing. It was well paced. The plot was engaging. I LOVED Ivy. Then the twist happened, and I was
So this was refreshing. Let's see ... backstabbing, revenge plotting, fake friends and getting what's coming to you. My kind of read because it's not MY drama
My main issue with this was that it went on for too long. It felt very slow paced, and nothing much really happens untill half the book, except various forms of Ivy's hate for Lola.
The plot twist was exactly what i thought it was going to be, and overall felt like something I'd read before. None of the characters were likeable.
Still, I'd say the writing was kinda good and it did keep me entertained. Requires suspension of disbelief for sure.
